John's musical career started five years out of high school as a roadie for a friend's band. When the lead singer quit, John was drafted into the lead singer position when he was caught singing along to a Led Zeppelin 8-track tape. He played his first gig a week later at a rush party at Cal State Fullerton.
During the 1970s John was in and out of various Orange County and LA nightclub top 40 bands. This led to an an original effort called Kid Charlemagne. Kid Charlemagne shared the stage with several top performers including Van Halen on two separate occasions in 1977.
John went on to the new wave craze in the late 70s and early 80s with the band called Film at 11. Film at 11 opened the show for the Naughty Sweeties, The Plimsolls, The Motels, 999, and Ultravox.
During the mid-1980s John felt a need to do the "responsible thing" and started working for a graphics firm in Orange County. John's music took a backstage for the next 30-years until he was laid off. This proved to be the perfect opportunity for John to get back into music and in 2008 recorded an EP, and in 2009 started performing live again.
