Keenwild is an alt-pop duet formed by Jeney Kingsbury and Bill Gould in the fall of 2002 that has performed at many venues across the United States. Based in Temecula California, Bill had been writing songs that were not at all in the style of his current band when he met Jeney in the fall of 2001 through a message board on the website of now defunct radio station 92.1 in San Diego. Quickly the two became friends. On the way home from a show on night, Bill heard Jeney singing to the radio in the back seat and knew he had found the new lead singer for his untitled new project.
After settling on the name Keenwild and recording their debut album Dievercity, the band started playing every show possible. The first track that started to get downloads, Mr Pete, went to #1 on the Australian MP3.com.au charts, the second single, Rivers, made it to the top 10 as well.
Keenwild has played shows with well-known bands such as Neon Trees, Meg and Dia, HelloGoodbye, Steel Train, Inverse, IllNoise, A Change Of Pace, YouInSeries, D.O.R.K., Animo, Halifax, Socratic, An Angle and Limbeck. The band has also played venues all over the southwest US and events like Temecula Arts Festival, Earth Day at Lake Skinner, Redlands Race for the Cure, Temecula Tractor Race, Think Pink - a Breast Cancer Benefit, Temecula Music Fest, and Rancho Damicitas Group Home Kids Concert.
When not touring, Bill and Jeney began promoting shows in the Temecula area at various local venues as a way to entertain high school kids. The shows have been well received by local parents and kids alike. After the success in hosting live music and playing shows across the country with Keenwild, Bill Gould decided to run for elected office in the fall of 2007. In his first campaign, Bill won the election and served 4 years on the Romoland School Board as a Trustee.
No longer tied up with being an elected official, Bill started playing guitar and writing music again. It wasn't long before Jeney got the creative itch and lyrics were lining sheets of paper. After a short hiatus, the band began playing live shows in the start of 2013.
